Intellectual Property Policy
Last updated:
Baseball clothing is full of famous names and logos that belong to teams, leagues, colleges and players. Jersey Harbor stays clear of all of them. This policy explains what belongs to us on jerseyharbor.shop, what you may and may not do with it, how we keep other people’s trademarks and designs off our products — including in the names and numbers customers type — and how to tell us about a concern. For copyright notices specifically, see our DMCA page.
Intellectual property in one look
- The Jersey Harbor name, the JH stitched-arc logo, our designs, images and text belong to Jersey Harbor or our licensors.
- We do not sell licensed or team merchandise, and we do not print team, league, college, club or player names or logos.
- Personalisation is for your own names, nicknames and numbers.
- Sharing links to our pages is welcome; copying our designs or content is not.
- Report a concern to support@jerseyharbor.shop; we reply within 24 hours on business days.
1. What belongs to Jersey Harbor
The following are owned by Jersey Harbor, 4635 W Aberdeen Pl, Littleton, CO 80123, US, or used by us under licence, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws:
- the name Jersey Harbor and the JH logo with its stitched baseball arc;
- our jersey and accessory designs, including the Ballpark script, Sunday League script, Bleacher Crew arch, Baseball Mom and Baseball Dad lettering, Little Slugger and Rookie scripts, the chest-stripe and pinstripe treatments, the scorecard tote print, the pennant pillow and the bleacher blanket print;
- product images, banner images, illustrations and the icons used on the site;
- product and collection descriptions, help pages, policies and other text;
- the look and arrangement of the site itself.
2. What you are welcome to do
- Browse the site, and print or save pages for your own personal reference — a size table to take to the family, a policy to keep with an order.
- Share links to our products and pages by message, email or on social media.
- Post photos of the Jersey Harbor jerseys you bought and are wearing. Nothing here limits how you wear or photograph clothing you own.
- Quote a short extract of our text with a link back to the page it came from.
3. What you may not do
- Copy, reproduce, resell or republish our product images, designs or descriptions, including on marketplaces, print-on-demand platforms or other stores.
- Make and sell products using our designs, or designs that are confusingly close to them, without our written permission.
- Use the Jersey Harbor name, the JH logo or anything confusingly similar in a way that suggests you are us or are connected to us.
- Scrape or bulk-download the site’s content with automated tools, other than ordinary search engine indexing.
4. No team, league, college or player marks
Jersey Harbor is not a licensed sports merchandise store. Our products are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any professional or amateur team, league, association, college, school or player. In practice that means:
- our designs use general baseball ideas — pinstripes, piping, scripts, crossed bats, pennants, seam stitches, plain numbers — and our own words, never a team’s name, nickname, logo, mascot or wordmark;
- we do not combine colours, fonts and layouts to imitate a particular team’s uniform;
- product names and descriptions describe the cut and design, never “official”, “authentic” or “licensed”;
- we do not use photos of real players or stadium names in our product images.
5. Personalisation and other people’s rights
Several jerseys let you add a name on the back, a number and a front word. Those fields exist so you can put your own family name, your child’s first name, a nickname or a number that means something to you on a jersey. They are not for reproducing someone else’s brand. When you personalise an item, you agree not to enter:
- the name, nickname, slogan or abbreviation of a sports team, league, college, club or school;
- a famous player’s name combined with their jersey number in a way that imitates their jersey;
- the name of a brand, a cartoon or film character, a band or any other trademark;
- anything offensive or anything about another person that they have not agreed to.
| Typed text | Printed? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| CARTER and the number 12 | Yes | A family name and a personal number |
| GRANDPA on the front, HAYES 9 on the back | Yes | A family role and your own name and number |
| A nickname such as SLIDER or BIG MIKE | Yes | Your own nickname |
| The name of a professional team on the front | No | Belongs to the team or league |
| A famous player’s surname and number to copy their jersey | No | Imitates a player’s identity and the team’s uniform |
If an order includes personalisation that we cannot print under this policy, we email you before production. You can change the text within the order, or we cancel that item and refund it in full.
6. Why we are strict about this
Team and league names, logos and uniform designs are valuable trademarks, and their owners license them carefully. A jersey that copies them without permission can mislead buyers into thinking it is official merchandise, and it can cause legal trouble for the person who wears or gifts it as well as for the seller. By keeping every design our own and every personalisation personal, we can offer jerseys that you can wear anywhere, photograph freely and give as gifts without any doubt about where they came from.
7. Rosters, rec leagues and community teams
Many customers order for a small community team, a church league, a work softball side or a family reunion game. You are welcome to put each player’s own surname and number on their jersey. If your group has a name, keep in mind that our front fields are designed for short personal words, and a community team’s name should be one your group created and has the right to use — not the name or logo of an established professional, college or school team. If you are not sure, email us before ordering and we will tell you whether we can print it.
8. Common questions
Can I order a plain jersey in my favourite team’s colours?
Yes. Colours on their own are not a problem; a navy jersey or a red jersey is just a jersey. What we do not do is add a team’s name, logo or a design that imitates its uniform.
Can I put my favourite player’s number on the back?
Numbers on their own are fine. We print the number you choose with your own name, or a family name, on the back. We do not print a famous player’s name with their number to recreate their jersey.
Can I use the word “baseball” or “softball”?
Yes. Sport names and general words like ballpark, bleachers, game day, slugger or rookie describe the sport and are free for everyone to use.
What if I see the Jersey Harbor name used somewhere else?
We sell only on jerseyharbor.shop. If you see our name, logo or product photos on another website, marketplace listing or social media shop, it is not us. Please send us the link so we can look into it, and do not enter payment details on a site that only claims to be Jersey Harbor.
Can a school or club order jerseys with its own crest?
Our product pages offer the personalisation fields described above, and they do not accept logo uploads. If a school or club owns its name, write to us first; for anything beyond plain names and numbers, we will tell you honestly if it is outside what we can make.
9. Respecting others’ rights in everything we make
We create our own designs or use material we have the right to use. If we learn that a product, image or text on our site may infringe someone’s trademark, copyright, design right or right of publicity, we review it promptly and change or remove it where appropriate. Customers who bought an affected item are treated fairly, which may include an exchange for another design or a refund under our Refund Policy.
10. How to report a concern
Email support@jerseyharbor.shop with the subject “IP concern” and include:
- your name, contact details and your relationship to the rights owner;
- the right you believe is affected, for example a trademark and its registration number, or a description of the design;
- the URL of each product or page concerned on jerseyharbor.shop;
- a short explanation of why you believe it infringes, and a statement that the information you give is accurate.
For copyright in photos, illustrations or text, please follow the process on our DMCA page, which asks for a few additional details.
11. What happens after you report
We confirm that we received your report within 24 hours on business days. We then review the material against the right you describe. If we need more information, we ask before deciding. If the concern is valid, we change or remove the content and tell you what was done. If we conclude that there is no infringement — for example because the design uses only general baseball elements — we explain our reasons and remain open to further information.
12. Ideas and suggestions
We enjoy hearing ideas for new jersey designs, colours or accessories. If you send us an idea, you agree that we may use it without payment or obligation. We will never publish your name or personal information with it without your permission.
13. Asking permission to use our content
If you would like to use one of our images or a passage of our text — for example in an article about game-day outfits — email support@jerseyharbor.shop and tell us what you would like to use and where. We reply within 24 hours on business days. Permission is only valid if given in writing.
14. Related policies
This policy works alongside our Terms of Service, which set out the rules for using the site and ordering, our DMCA page for copyright notices and our Privacy Policy. Questions are always welcome through Contact Us.
We review this policy as our range grows. When we add a new product type or a new personalisation field, we check it against the rules above before it goes on sale, and we update the date at the top of this page whenever the policy changes.
